  • Rcsult of the studies showed that the essential oil from Cinnamomum micranthumwas highly effective against Tribo lium castaneum,an important insect pest of storedproducts.The oil was also proved to be safe to manunals when was used as a grainprotectant. Safrole,a predominant component of the essential oil has been determinedto be the insecticidally active ingredient of this plant through a series of bioassays.
