  • It is the first report of bacterial brown spot on Phalaenopsis aphrodite Reichb in the continent of China. The isolation of bacteria was obtained from diseased plants in Guangzhou region. According to the morphology,cultural characteristics,pathogenicity,physiological and biochemical tests,the pathogen was identified to be Pseudomonas cattleyae (Pavarino) Savulescu.
