  • Genetic polymorphisms of Pit-1 gene was analyzed by sequencing and PCR-SSCP in Hexi cashmere goat, Longdong cashmere goat, Liaoning cashmere goat and Inner Mongolia cashmere goat, and the effects of genotype on body mass and body measurement traits of goat were also estimated in this study. The results showed that two SNPs(G/T, T/C), and five genotypes(AA, AB, BB, AC and BC)were detected in exon 6, and the BB was the predominant genotype. The genotype distributions of four populations were all in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium except for Inner Mongolia cashmere goat. The least square analysis indicated that body mass and heart girth of individuals with genotype AB were significantly higher than that of individuals with genotype BC(P<0.05), and the other genotypes were no significant difference(P>0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that genotypes of Pit-1 gene is an effective genetic marker in goat breeding.
