    异小杆线虫的一株不发光共生细菌

    A NONBIOLUMINESCENT BACTERIUM SYMBIOTICALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE INSECT-PATHOGENIC NEMATODE HETERORHABDITIS SP.

    • 摘要: 异小杆线虫是一种昆虫病原线虫,多年以来一直认为它的共生细菌都具有荧光的特性。我们从广东阳江海陵岛上所采集的异小杆线虫86H_1的标本中,分离出一株不发光的共生小杆菌。它与发光共生小杆菌一样,亦具备抗生性,其初生型亦有利于宿主线虫的大量繁殖。用EMB琼脂可区别该菌的初生型和次生型。根据其形态及培养特征,生理生化和血清学反应的特点,该菌在分类上可属于发光共生小杆菌Xenorhabdus luminescens。

       

      Abstract: A nonbioluminescent bacterium symbiotically associated with the insect-pathogenic nematode Heterorhabditis spp. 86H1 was isolated in China. Both of two forms exhibited antibiotic activity, but only primary form enhanced nematode production. Using the EMB agar. the two forms were easily distinguished. According to its morphological, cultural, physiological, biochemical and serolo-gical characters, it was identified as Xenorhabdas luminescens. So the characterization of the species may need to be amended to allow for bioluminescense or not.
