Abstract:
Municipal sewage treatment plant produces a lot of waste activated sludge(WAS) containing high concentrations of metal-ion and other harmful material when it cleans sewage. How to dispose and utilize sludge has attracted wide concern. A valuable innovative suggestion is that some WAS be used as absorbent and retumed to the primary cldrifier to decrease the content of metal-ion in the sewage and sludge. This study aimed at doing some absorption experiment in the laboratory in order to elucidate adsorption patterns and the optimal values of factors involved. The result indicated that WAS exhibited potential for Cu2+ and Zn2+ adsorption.
